Team Captain Martha Chan
"$50 can end hunger for one person forever - in Africa by The Hunger Project. By
sponsoring my run, you will be helping to end hunger forever. Th Hunger Project empowers
women and men to end their own hunger. I have been a supporter of The Hunger Project for
over 15 years. www.thp.org I dedicate my run to Gaetan Bellerose, a marathon runner who
ran in Africa in 1986 for The Hunger Project. He passed away in March. Thanks Gaetan for
the difference you've made."

Assistant Team Captain
Dominic Scaffidi
"I began running about five years ago to
lose weight and improve my health and fitness level. I now really enjoy running and
understand the 'runner's high' people talk about. Last year, I ran my first marathon
(Scotia Toronto Waterfront) and began using the races to raise money for The Hunger
Project. My family and I have been investing in The Hunger Project for about 20 years. I
am inspired by the sustainable approach that empowers people to end their own hunger - it
makes a huge difference in the lives of the individuals and their communities."

business. Your support is greatly appreciated by me and The Hunger Project. To learn more

Judy Viale
"I have been involved with the Hunger Project as a volunteer for about 2 years.
am a mother of four and have been running off and on for 14 years. I started running to
lose weight after pregnancy. At 38, after my 3rd child, I ran my first half marathon and
really got hooked. My last child arrived just before my 40th birthday and I have been
running ever since. I am proud to say that my oldest son Tyler who is 17yrs old will be
running the race with me this year! Plus I have recruited 2 of my sisters!"

"Here I go again! I'm so excited to run the 10K in support of The Hunger Project.
Thanks to everyone who supported me last year. I'm pumped and ready to go! Please give to
such a worthy cause. "

Kista Scaffidi
"As a runner for more than 5 years I am thrilled to be part of this run. Last
year I completed 3 half marathons and am registered for my first full marathon in the
fall. This will be the first time I will be running for a cause and since I've been a
supporter of The Hunger Project for more than 20 years, it will be very meaningful."

Steve Delorme
"I would most certainly appreciate your support in our 2010 10K run to help end
hunger. It's a reasonably long run for a clunky runner like me, but a short hop to your
credit card for you. It only takes a few minutes of your time to donate and I'll love you
forever for your support and contribution. Others will too. Thanks!"

Steve Blasiak
"One of the ways I want to help myself is by helping other people. I found that
The Hunger Project's concept of teaching people how to fend for themselves, then giving
them the tools to do the job is an amazing concept. As simple as it sounds, it works and I
want to help provide the "grease" to make this machine run well. Personally I've
fallen off the "health" wagon and am using this event to get re-motivated and
revitalized."

Nicholas Blaisak
"I became interested in running when I joined my
school's rugby team in the 7th grade. At that time I was overweight and it was required
that every player run to the practice field every practice. Well, you can imagine how I
did with no previous conditioning or running experience and having to run 4km there and
back again. Every practice I was the last to make it to the field. That motivated me to
run every day. Now I am happy to help others while helping myself."

Mary Delorme
"I'm running in support of The Hunger Project. Please support me and together we can
help end hunger in our world."

Jess Delorme
"My first 10K run, and it's for a great cause! The Hunger Project. Here's a
snipet from the Hunger Project Page. The Hunger Project is a global, non-profit, strategic
organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. I've never run any sort of
distance before and have been training hard since December! Wish me luck, and lets help
end hunger, even if it means me blistering my feet!"

Tyson Hamilton
"As you are well aware by now, I am running the Sporting Life 10k run again this
year. This time as a part of the Hunger Project. You can read more about the hunger
project at www.thp.org. They are a non-profit organization that is working to end hunger
in Africa, South Asia, and Latin America. Please give what you can! Thanks."

Gail Stewart
"As many of you know I am currently dealing with forced retirement
(hopefully temporary) what better use could I make of my free time than to participate in
the 10K and raise funds for the Hunger Project. Donation is simple, just go to the link
and you can put it on your credit card. Next year I will have an image of me crawling
across the finish line with Mary Delorme! Thanks for your kind support....I believe I am
the oldest on our team, so you should all feel sorry for me and give big."

Karthika Rajamanikkom
"I took up running as a hobby a year ago and it has turned into
something so much more meaningful than that. Let's work together to make sure that no one
on this planet is hungry. Any donation amount will be much appreciated. All proceeds will
go to The Hunger Project."

Beth Mountain
"I started running to spend time with my husband who was training for an
ironman about 5 years ago. I was his warm up and cool down running partner, and I
have been running off and on again since then. This will be my first time
running a 10Km race and I will be running with 2 of my sisters to support The Hunger
Project. I hope you will make a donation to this worthy cause."

Sandy, Max, and Rachael Page
"Our goal was to run the 10km in under 60 minutes and raise $1000 for
The Hunger Project. We feel very privileged to support this charity on a regular basis.
With 30+ years of history, we marvel at THP's ability to make a dollar stretch. THP boasts
the ability to take $50 and end hunger for one person, forever! Not $50/month or /year,
just one lump sum of $50-AMAZING! So please help us, help them, end hunger." |
 |
Ann Peladeau
"This is my first 10k Last year I thought I can't - therefore I did
not... This year I think of course I can - therefore I will... I tell myself just to dig
deep, so I'm asking you to dig deep and support me in my efforts to end hunger." |
